Christmas in the country

We left the day after Christmas for SW Georgia where we say most of our fmaily and played with the cousins.  It was a nice week!

White Christmas!

We were so lucky in Atlanta at Christmas that it actually snowed!! It snowed all day on Christmas and we ended up with at least an inch of snow.  We did not go play in it much but it certainly was gorgeous to look at.

Christmas Wrap-up!

Christmas was very exciting for us this year as it was Nix's first!  We had so much fun and hated to see Christmas end!  Grammy, Granddaddy, Ju-Ju and Wendell came up on Christmas Eve.   A couple of us went to a Christmas Eve service at Due West Methodist while couple others stayed home.  Once everyone was back home, we went to work on a delicious meal that Thad cooked.  Grammy, Ju-ju and MR worked on a gingerbread house.... well, actually Grammy and Ju-ju did most of the work, it was a little too hard for MR. 

Then we got ready for Santa's visit!  MR got a new nightgown for her and Julie (her AG doll).  She spread out the reindeer food and fixed a plate for Santa (sugar cookie, gluten-free sugar cookie and Diet Coke). And off to bed we went!  Santa was very good to all of us!

MR got a doll bed, doll armoire, HUGE princess castle and the beloved unicorn pillow pet.  Nix got an alphabet train, bouncing pony, blocks and a cozy convertible car... you will see in the pics below which one is his favorite!

Nine years ago, I married the love of my life.  These past 9 years have been crazy....kids, jobs, houses, etc.  But we have stuck through it all together.  I wouldn't want any other person beside me through this life. 

Christmas Tea with Santa

MR and I went to a Christmas Tea with Santa near the Marietta Square.  It was a great time that also included a visit with Cinderella (who MR pointed out had dark hair, not blonde hair like her). This was MR's first official "tea", so we feasted on little sandwiches and yummy desserts.  MR also had her first cup of tea, which was loaded with sugar and cream.  Santa read a story and then MR told him what she wanted... "a record like her mommy listened to when she was little".  (Sidebar: the other night we had a discussion that at my grandmother's house (aka G.G.) I used to listen to Dean Martin's White Christmas on a record.)

Julie had to come along to the tea as well.
